Pregnancy and Postpartum


Pregnancy

We understand now is such an exciting time for you - massive congratulations.

At Contro Pilates and Yoga, our priority is the safety of you and bub. Therefore, we have set the following in place;

  • First Trimester (1-12 weeks): You can attend all Contro classes. You can also attend Reformer (Pregnancy) if you want to – this is a good option if you are starting to feel uncomfortable.

  • Second Trimester (13-26 weeks): Reformer (Pregnancy) classes and Yoga classes only – no other studio classes.

  • Third Trimester (27-40 weeks): Reformer (Pregnancy) classes only.

Private Sessions are available and encouraged throughout the whole pregnancy.

Thank you for understanding that we have implemented these rules to protect both you and bub.

Postpartum

Once you are postpartum, it is a requirement that you have medical clearance before resuming exercise.

We recommend starting with Matwork Pilates and Yoga classes until you feel like you have gained the strength back to progress with regular Reformer Pilates and Barre classes. We run numerous Postpartum 6-week Programs throughout the year - keep an eye out for these.
